Distribution

The term distribution refers to the movement of products or services from the supplier of raw goods to the plant (producer or manufacturer) to end users (customers). Distribution exists in various forms: from supplier to factory, from producer to wholesaler, from wholesaler to retailer, from retailer to the end user, and (increasingly) directly from producer to the end user. In this respect, distribution can also be defined as the movement of products and services through the distribution channel to the final consumers from the original producer or supplier. The term channel refers to buying, selling, packaging, transporting, storing, and all other value-added activities.
