Some fresh faces in what was once an old scene.A new generation challenging the male-dominated mainstream

in Irish traditional music.Our backing comes from the harp and from the piano accordionand the fiddle strings.We do a lot of string work, as well.And then the flute and the whistle, then, with a lotof melody.So I think that sets us apart.And the fact that there's six vocalists, not many bandswould have that.There's always going to be male touring bands.

And professional traditional musicseems to be dominated by males.But I think it has stood to us to be six women.Ireland's youth used to have little timefor traditional music.But suddenly it seems folk music has become hip.
