Literary Mama is a monthly online magazine that showcases mother writers. It serves as an outlet and clearinghouse for mothers who write. The pieces showcased on Literary Mama deal with edgy and honest representations of all facets of mothering. Literary Mama publishes fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, literary criticism, book reviews, and columns, and has a blog component as well as writing prompts. Writers who publish on the site have literary ambitions and seek to investigate motherhood and build it as a literary and academic platform. Literary Mama does not promote a particular mothering or feminist agenda. Instead, it offers space for writing about motherhood that does not fit neatly into other categories, focusing on craft as much as content.
