Health Status Measurement Standards

Health status measurement is important in determining the health of a population. The definition of health represents one of the contemporary challenges in health services research, as defining health is complex and measures of health vary. Defining health status measurement is relative, as health is a multidimensional, multiconstruct concept for which users of any metric of health must provide appropriate context if they are to understand how the outcome applies to their research needs.
