Physical education is an integral part of the school curriculum with the overarching goal of leading youth to participate in physical activity for a lifetime. Additional goals of physical education include teaching youth to be competent in a variety of motor skills, understand strategies and tactics for participation in a variety of physical activities and/or sports, develop and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness, demonstrate appropriate personal and social responsibility during physical activities, and value and enjoy lifelong participation in physical activity.
