Technology transfer (TT) is a complex, multidimensional concept. Its definition varies widely depending on the subject discipline, context, and perspective from which it is conceptualized. In the climate change context, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) defines TT as a broad set of processes covering the flows of know-how, experience, and equipment for mitigating and adapting to climate change among different stakeholders, such as governments, private sector entities, financial institutions, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and research/education institutions.
