Education and Green Health
It is well recognized among experts that environmental conditions have important effects on human health. The general public is only recently beginning to understand this relationship, learning about the links between our personal health, the health of the local environment, and the larger ecology of the Earth. Green health is the understanding of the interrelationship between sustainability of personal health and the sustainability of planetary resources and processes. The understanding is occurring on the following two fronts:
- Individuals, communities, and the healthcare industry are broadening their understanding of health by enhancing our understanding of the determinants of health, providing more holistic approaches to health and healthcare beyond the typically narrow focus of traditional Western medicine.
