“Death of Environmentalism, The”
“The Death of Environmentalism: Global Warming Politics in a Post-Environmental World” is the title of a long article written by Michael Shellenberger and Ted Nordhaus in 2004 and published with the contributions of The Breakthrough Institute and the Evans/McDonough research firm. The article states that the environmental movement is no longer able to deal with the world's ecological crisis because of its exclusive interest in technical policies, like pollution controls or standard setting that weakens its popular inspiration without incrementing its political power.
The authors adopt a corporate marketing research approach to analyze opinions, values, and beliefs of environmental communities in the United States and Canada.
