Extended Product Responsibility

The prevention and reduction of environmental pollution, as well as the promotion of sustainable consumption and production (SCP), are fundamental to safeguard the Earth's capacity to support life, to respect the limits of the planet's natural resources, and to ensure a high level of regenerative development. Consumption and production of goods contribute significantly to global warming, pollution, material use, the increase of hazardous waste, and the depletion of the planet's natural resources. Extended product responsibility establishes a framework that supports and encourages SCP.
