In gifted education as in other disciplines the teacher has been found to be the most influential factor in student achievement and satisfaction. Effective teachers are well prepared to teach in their area, have common personality traits, use a wide range of pedagogical strategies in their teaching, and view parents as partners. There is no “one right way” to teach gifted children. Different teachers use different strategies at different times. Effective teachers respond to the individual child and the circumstances and choose strategies and activities based on their individual teaching strengths and styles, as well as their students' learning profiles, readiness levels, and interests.
