International Baccalaureate

The International Baccalaureate (IB) organization is a nonprofit educational foundation that was established in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1968, by families whose professional lifestyles rendered them citizens of the world. The need to develop a plan of studies that would be universally accepted emerged as young people in these families began preparing to enter a university. The plan has now expanded to include students of all ages. The mission of the foundation is to develop well-rounded individuals who are intellectually curious, knowledgeable, caring, and prepared to build a better, more peaceful world working in collaboration with people from countries and cultures across the globe.
