Individualized Instruction

The multiple definitions and interpretations of individualized instruction often make it difficult to construct a common meaning and validate the implementation of the concept. Individualized instruction can be defined as an accommodation or modification of the curriculum, a pedagogical strategy, or a programmatic structure provided to a student. Each of these references to individualized instruction requires a specific orientation. The curriculum reference to individualized instruction places emphasis on adjusting the curriculum to respond to the individual attributes of the learner.
