Having symbolic and tangible influences on families, communities offer various types of resources for families in need. These resources, defined broadly, include natural, economic, social, and human resources available in the community. More specifically related to family health, community resources indicate any agencies, organizations, programs, or individuals that deliver health services to the family as well as social support and social capital. Community resources that are available to families have the potential for being helpful when families are in need. These resources contribute to prevent, maintain, and promote the health of families.
