Center for Research On Evaluation, Standards, And Student Testing (CRESST)

Located within UCLA's Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, the Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing (CRESST) endeavors to improve the quality of education and learning in America. CRESST is a pioneer in the development of scientifically based evaluation and testing techniques and a leading proponent of the accurate use of data, test scores, and technology for improved accountability and decision making. CRESST researchers, along with CRESST's many partners, explore the impact of different approaches to assessment and accountability on instruction and the impact of variations in system design on the validity of inferences, with a special emphasis on the challenges and requirements of the No Child Left Behind legislation.
