Performance Indicator

Performance indicator is a term used to describe a range of techniques for monitoring performance by using a standardized measure. It is often expressed as a percentage, index, or rate and is monitored at regular intervals. For example, if a program or organization is attempting to improve parenting skills, a performance indicator could be the proportion of parents who feel they are coping better with parenting their children at the end of the program. There are many standard instruments available that are used as performance indicators, such as quality of life surveys, health inventories, sales records, and so on.
