Indicators

An indicator is the operationalization of a variable used in an evaluation. It is what is measured to signify performance. For example, if an intelligence quotient is a variable, its indicator might be the score on a Stanford-Binet test. Indicators are descriptions of what can be empirically observed that will signal the occurrence of the aspect or facet of the evaluand under study.
