The term community health refers to the health status of a community and to the public and private activities undertaken to protect or improve the health of its members. The public and private activities are divided into three domains: health promotion, health protection, and health services. Each of these is discussed in greater detail below. Health can be defined as the physical, mental, emotional, and social resources for a productive and satisfying life. A community can be defined as a group of people who live under the same regulations, social norms, values, and organizational structure.
