Naval War College

The Naval War College, located at Newport, Rhode Island, has provided the highest level of professional military education for the U.S. Navy since its founding in 1884. It provides both intermediate and senior levels of education. Its younger counterparts are the Army War College, the Army Command and Staff College, National Defense University, Air University, and Marine Corps University. Since 1990, the Naval War College has been accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges to award a master of arts degree in national security and strategic studies for its year-long course.
