Germany

Germany is a country located in western Europe. It has a common border with nine countries: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, and Switzerland. Germany covers an area of 357,000 square kilometers and has 81.8 million inhabitants (2011), making it the second most populous state in Europe (after Russia) and the most populous member state of the European Union. The capital is Berlin.

Germany is a parliamentary democracy. The legislature consists of two chambers, the Bundestag and the Bundesrat. Members of the Bundestag are chosen every 4 years in general elections.
