Ambush

An ambush is a deliberate attack designed to utilize the element of surprise in delivering concerted and coordinated fire from concealed positions on an enemy in a position that affords him little opportunity to protect himself or return effective fire. Depending on the terrain and time afforded to the attacker, an ambush can be organized hastily or as a deliberate and well-organized attack. Positions with various responsibilities are assigned when setting an ambush, and a design is made as to how the ambush will be initiated so as to ensure the element of surprise. An ambush is initiated when the enemy crosses into the kill box of the ambush, the area that allows the ambush to deliver the most effective fire on the enemy.
