White House Military Office

The White House Military Office (WHMO) is visible to the public when the president travels abroad, when foreign visitors come to the White House, and when Camp David is used as a retreat or for policy functions. These activities are carried out by what is known as the WHMO. Its role is to provide military support for White House functions, including food supervision, transportation, Marine One and Air Force One, medical support and emergency care, hospitality, and keeping the trigger of the strategic nuclear attack force with the president at all times.
