Veterans of Foreign Wars

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is an organization open to all military personnel earning service badges for participation in U.S. overseas military campaigns. Founded after the Spanish-American War, the VFW serves as a fraternal association dedicated to the welfare of American veterans and their families. To that end, the VFW provides several services for veterans: (a) as advocates for federal veterans legislation, (b) as an intermediary between individual veterans and the veterans bureaucracy, and (c) in perpetuating the bonds of camaraderie associated with military service.
