Igbo Humor

The Igbo are an ethnic group located mainly in South-East Nigeria. During the Nigerian civil war (1967–1970), the Igbo seceded from Nigeria and declared the independent state of Biafra. The devastation and famine following the defeat of the independent Biafra have attracted significant attention. Ironically, the war itself was partly provoked by the perception of the Igbo as arrogant, lewd, aggressive in business, and unduly playful. So spirited and bouncy are the people that even some of their sad experiences and suffering during that conflict have been turned into fun.
