Auxiliary Services

Auxiliary services in PreK-12 schools is a term with multiple and broad meanings in the field of education economics and finance. Its definition varies from state to state, depending on the organizational structures within a given state. In some states, the definition is sweeping and can encompass the areas of transportation; food service; capital outlay and maintenance; guidance, counseling, and testing services; psychological services; services for exceptional children; remedial services; speech and hearing services; services for the educationally disadvantaged, including but not limited to teaching English as a second language; as well as other secular, neutral, nonideological services of a supplementary and remedial nature.
