Community policing strategies for investigations refers to systematically engaging in community partnerships and employing those partnerships to aid in solving crimes as well as preventing future criminality. While the overarching goal of community policing is preventive—to address and respond to conditions that give rise to criminal activity— community policing strategies for investigations use partnerships and problem-solving techniques that are both reactive (to respond to past crimes) and proactive (to prevent future crimes).
