Web Sites, Use by School Districts and Boards

Web sites are a useful part of the Internet that can facilitate many of the information-sharing responsibilities of school boards and their staffs. Individual schools within systems often have at least one Web page; there may also be Web sites for entire districts that link to the Web sites of individual schools. Individual school Web sites are usually managed by teachers who have some expertise in technology. Administering duties are sometimes shared with students as part of computer and/or design classes. It is not uncommon for students to be given space to construct and maintain personal Web sites on school Web sites.
