National Center for Education Statistics

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), part of the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences, is the primary federal entity for generating and analyzing national and international data used to examine the American educational system. More specifically, the mission of the NCES is to collect, collate, analyze, and report statistics on the condition of education in the United States, as well as to publish reports and analyses explaining the results of statistical findings.
