Bush Administration, George H. W.

Following the presidential term of Ronald Reagan, the George H. W. Bush administration lasted from 1989 to 1993. President Bush had previously served as vice president of the United States under the Reagan administration. Serving as Reagan's vice president, Bush headed several administration task forces regarding drug smuggling and drug abuse, a heated issue during the Reagan administration. Bush had also served as a Congressman, and briefly as the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), giving briefings to Jimmy Carter prior to his inauguration.
