Illicit Drug Anti-Proliferation Act

An illicit drug is defined as a drug that is manufactured, sold, possessed, or used illegally. Marijuana, cocaine, heroin, hallucinogens, and inhalants are categorized as illicit drugs along with prescription pain relievers, tranquilizers, stimulants, and sedatives when used for nonmedical purposes. The popularity of certain illicit drugs has increased among teenagers and young adults attending nightclubs and raves. A rave is defined as an all-night dance party featuring electronic music and light shows. Some of the most common illicit drugs used at these venues include 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA/Ecstasy), flunitrazepam (Rohypnol), gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), and ketamine hydrochloride (ketamine).
