What Are the Test Standards?

Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing is a document—revised periodically by a team of testing experts from education, psychology, and other fields—to provide guidance to designers, administrators, and interpreters of test and assessment information. It consists of text on a topic as well as standards related to test development, evidence, and use. This use of standards contrasts with its use to specify curriculum standards, as in state lists of standards in mathematics, or national consensus documents in literacy.
