Classroom Pedagogy and Diversity in Higher Education

Institutions of higher education have become more ethnically diverse in the past 30 years. While higher education has recognized the possibilities and benefits this increased diversity offers for teaching and learning in the college setting, not much has changed in terms of overall approaches to educating this diverse group of students. One challenge is that, historically, diversity efforts have been fragmented and disconnected from educational excellence.
