Faculty policies serve as guides to appropriate teaching and administrative policies and procedures practiced at learning institutions. These policies provide important information and boundaries for appropriate instructor behaviors and actions in the classroom. Policies may differ greatly from institution to institution. Although many of an institution's faculty policies may accommodate differences in traditional and distributed learning environments, education delivered via modes of distributed learning warrant additional policies to encompass the differences in distance-delivered education.
