Transcripts
The academic transcript is a subset of the student's total academic record at the institution. It is essentially a neutral document, recording the basic identifying information about the person whose record it is, the history of his or her enrollment status at the institution, courses attempted and completed, grades received, and any degrees earned. The total academic record may contain many other pieces of information about the student, but the transcript is a succinct document, usually no more than two to three pages, and does not usually contain narrative text, but rather a chronological listing of academic work. Narrative transcripts, in contrast, will have a page or more written by the instructor and dedicated to a detailed description of the student's performance in the course.
