Summary

Sport socialization refers to the way children are socialized into being a part of a sports culture; this can include wearing sports apparel, or paying for them to attend a sporting event. Sports socialization occurs without the child being aware that he/she is receiving subtle indicators of a cultural belief in the value of sports.
