Mata Amritanandamayi Math

Mata Amritanandamayi Math (also known as M. A. Math) is a charitable humanitarian organization, founded by the female Hindu spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, who is known popularly as “Amma.” Through its various centers (ashrams) and branch groups, M. A. Math offers educational, financial, medical, and social welfare assistance to disadvantaged people in India and overseas. Key projects in India include care centers for the elderly; schools, training centers, and orphanages for children in need; free housing schemes for the homeless and handicapped; health and medical services; free meals; and, more recently, relief assistance to victims of natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis.
