Terrorism Versus Transnational Crime
Transnational crime is generally organized crime. While organized crime might be found in most countries around the world, it does not in itself form a global network. Terrorism also operates on a transnational basis and, again, even though organizations such as Al Qaeda have global influence, there are no global terrorist networks. In the same way, there is no global nexus of transnational crime and terrorism. Instead, there are a number of transnational organized crime and terrorist nexuses.
