In this chapter, the focus is on unit-nonresponse, which in the following is simply referred to as nonresponse. Methodology is described for the detection of nonresponse bias and for the correction of nonresponse bias. Both detection and correction may take place during survey data collection and afterwards in the estimation. Adjustment during data collection refers to adaptive and responsive survey designs that have emerged in recent years.
