Introduction

Times change, natures change, and what counts as natural changes too. In 2007 the Norwegian Biodiversity Information Centre published a Blacklist of alien species living in Norway.1 Large pictures of the Iberian snail appeared on the front cover, and it was noted that the red king crab, another alien species, had travelled from the Kamchatka Peninsula.
