Introduction

This chapter reviews the state and progress of the academic literature in IWO Psychology in the Middle East region. Academic interest in the region has been growing exponentially in our sister discipline of human resource management (e.g. Afiouni, Ruël, & Schuler, 2014; Budhwar & Mellahi, 2007). However, there has not been an attempt to review the research in our field. We hope to fill that void.

The exact roster of countries thought to be a part of the Middle East region is often debated. Even so, most people would agree that the following countries are part of the Middle East: Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, ...
