All too often employers use negative age stereotypes unfairly to limit employment opportunities for older workers (The Economist, 2006). Negative age stereotypes create discrimination against older workers, resulting in the underutilization of this valuable human resource (EEOC v. Town of Huntington, 2008; Finkelstein, 2011; Roscigno, Mong, Byron, & Tester, 2007).
