Hoshin Planning
Hoshin planning (also called policy deployment, Hoshin kanri, or Hoshin) is a method devised to capture and cement strategic goals based on flashes of insight about the future to develop the means to bring these into reality. In other words, it is a process used to identify and address critical business needs, in addition to developing employees’ capabilities, by aligning company resources at all levels and applying the Deming’s Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) Cycle to consistently achieve critical results. Businesses in all sectors, including the service sector, can use it as an alternative approach to strategic planning and management.
