Science Education
Science education is, in essence, cognition: observing the natural world, asking questions, and then seeking to find answers to those questions. This is a human experience, one we lay claim to almost exclusively as a species. We have been using a systematic approach to this process, called the scientific method, for hundreds of years, with earlier methodologies employed for thousands of years in our history. Still, the divide between “learning” and “knowing” science has, in some accounts, grown wider with each passing generation of new students of science. Attempts to lessen this gap have occurred in the form of new technology such as clickers, adaptive learning systems, and virtual laboratories.
