Online Program Design
An online program is a collection of online courses for degree or certificate attainment or completion. Though early online instruction may have begun as a single course or series of unrelated courses created by faculty who were early adopters of the Internet delivery, online programs are currently delivered by K–12 and postsecondary institutions, professional organizations, and commercial vendors.
Some instructional program models combine both face-to-face and online delivery options for learners. Those that offer fully online programs provide the opportunity for larger and more interactive instruction for learners separated from instructional delivery by time, distance, or both.
