National Center for Academic Transformation
The National Center for Academic Transformation (NCAT) is a private nonprofit organization focused on using information technology to improve student learning outcomes and to lower the cost of higher education. Since 1999, NCAT has worked with a diverse group of colleges and universities to redesign courses in a wide variety of disciplines. NCAT achieves its goals through a variety of programs that have implemented the NCAT method of course redesign.
Founding
NCAT was founded in 1999 as the Center for Academic Transformation at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, with the aid of a grant from the Pew Charitable Trusts.
