Globalization of Educational Institutions
Educational institutions, which traditionally were local, regional, or national in reach, have with the rise of communication technology become global organizations. Between the 1970s and the 2010s, the world has undergone one of the fastest transformations in centuries. The information revolution and technological communication innovations have intertwined peoples in all continents. The economic globalization of the world brought down tariff and trade obstacles, incorporated markets, and welcomed new nations to the ranks of industrialized developed countries. Nation-states boundaries seemed to have vanished, and distances appeared reduced with instantaneous transmissions of image, sound, and text.
