The rising cost of higher education throughout the United States presents a significant concern for many middle- and lower-class families. While tuition, academic fees, and room and board prices continue to rise at American colleges and universities, there are also various forms of financial aid packages for today’s students.
State funding to public colleges and universities declined during the recession that began in 2008, leading to greater reliance on tuition revenue at many institutions.
