Over the years, a number of researchers and scholars have pointed to the paucity of social science research on ethnic minority populations and the lack of attention to cultural variables in the research. These are significant problems that face the social sciences. Without more research, we cannot be in a position to understand the status of these populations and their needs. On the other hand, the lack of ethnic research is instructive. It points to certain processes that plague our scientific practices.
