Introduction
Family business brings together two fundamental institutions of human existence: the family and work organization. Throughout human history these have coexisted – in earlier times inextricably intertwined, and in modern times often quite separated, except in the family firm. This makes family firms of special interest. Their distinctiveness, advantages, and risks present a challenge to business research.
