  • An approach to psychotherapy, which is differentiated from an “integrative” approach, that espouses utilization of conceptualizations and interventions from across a broad range of existing therapeutic modalities. Eclecticism is pragmatic in that interventions are matched to the client, rather than derived from a single theory. This approach is among the most frequently endorsed by mental health practitioners, next to cognitive behavioral therapy.
