  • The act, which is associated with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the 1990 American Disabilities Act (ADA), states that schools must make reasonable accommodations and adaptations for students with disabilities, including individuals with physical, mental, or learning disabilities. School districts are required to offer the same opportunities for success and provide accessible school programs and accessible school facilities for disabled students. All public schools and those private schools that receive any federal funding are required to comply with the act.
